Aspiring young singers could be 'Walking in the Air'

ASPIRING young singers are being urged to audition for a role that will see them perform Walking in the Air, from The Snowman, at Sheffield City Hall.

Carrot Productions, who bring their magical screening of the movie to Sheffield City Hall on December 14, are currently looking for a young soloist to perform the poignant solo alongside a 26-piece professional orchestra.

Auditions are open to any child up to age 17 (but boys before their voice has broken) who lives within 20 miles of Sheffield.

Rachel Whibley, Managing Director of Carrot Productions, said: “Our involvement with the local community is very important to us and we are delighted to create these opportunities for young singers across the country.

“We have devised a number of other ways for youngsters to get involved, too.

“For example, we invite them to send in artwork to be projected onto the 20 foot screen on which we show the films, before the performance starts.”
