The recently-opened Asda Living store at Parkgate Retail World donated over 200 Christmas presents to children staying in and visiting Rotherham Hospital over the festive season.

The gifts were donated to Rotherham Hospital Charity, which raises funds to improve patient experiences and in Rotherham Hospital and other local health services. DVDs, cars and dolls were amongst toys donated to the Charity, to the delight of Hospital staff.

Rebecca Allinson, Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, said: “We were overwhelmed when we went to pick up the gifts. Asda Living has shown they are a good neighbour to us and it's great that businesses, such as Asda, are so generous to those who might need a bit of a boost at this time of year.

“I can’t thank Asda enough.

“The joy on the children's faces when they received their presents was lovely to see and the gifts have helped to bring some extra Christmas cheer to the Trust.”

Stephen Davies, store manager at Asda Living Rotherham, said: “Everyone at the store is delighted that we have been able to help Rotherham Hospital Charity with making time spent in hospital over Christmas that bit easier for these children.”
