Arts group wants your views on new creativity centre

AN ARTS group has launched a survey on its plans for a new community creativity centre.

Rotherham Open Arts Renaissance (ROAR) will convert the former St Ann’s School for Boys into a new art space and wants potential users’ opinions.

The building, on the corner of St Ann’s Road and St Leonard’s Road in Eastwood, could host spaces for pottery, dance and more.

ROAR is working with staff from Rotherham’s Unity Centre, with help from Studio Polpo — a Sheffield-based, socially conscious architecture firm.

Amy Forde, ROAR administration assistant, said: “To help with our vision, design and funding, we want as many people in the community to have an input.

“We have some ideas about what might work, but we really want to hear people’s opinions as well.”

The survey asks what artistic activities people take part in, what they would like to see at the centre and if and how they might help.
