Adult learning to be promoted at summer fayre

THE inaugural summer fayre of an organisation promoting adult learning is set to take place in Rotherham’s Clifton Park.

The free event by the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA), on June 27, will feature workshops and demonstrations including family history, sugarcraft, singing, cupcakes, jewellery making, yarn spinning and birds of prey.

There will also be stalls and refreshments.

Lindy Gresswell, regional chair of WEA Yorkshire and Humber, said: “We’re very excited to be hosting our inaugural summer fayre in Rotherham. It’s a great place with so much to offer.

“The fayre is a great opportunity for all the family to come and have a fun day in a wonderful setting.

“It’s our way of saying thanks to all the people that support the WEA and to introduce others to the world of adult learning.

“We want to celebrate what’s great about adult learning and we look forward to opening our doors to anyone who is interested in learning about what’s on offer in the area and helping them to kick-start their learning journey.”
