The Drifters top bill at South Yorkshire music festival

POP legends The Drifters are heading for South Yorkshire this weekend.

The group, famous for hits like Under the Boardwalk, Kissing in the Back Row of the Movies, There Goes My First Love and You’re More Than a Number in My Little Red Book, will headline the Cusworth Music festival on Saturday.

Also on the bill of the festival, which runs from noon until midnight, are Queen tribute act The Great Pretender, rockers Screaming Eagles, The Jokers and Saint Harlot, indie band

The Wallbirds, pop artiste Natalie and Abba tribute band Twice as Nice.

The festival is in aid of the Aurora Wellbeing Centre, a Doncaster-based charity which helps cancer patients at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Mexborough’s Montagu Hospital.

It is now raising money for a third centre to be based in Bassetlaw.

The festival is at Cusworth Hall on Saturday and tickets cost £15 in advance, £20 on the gate. Under 12s accompanied by an adult go free. Camping is also available on Saturday night at £2.50 per night for adults and £1.50 for children and concessions.

Tickets are available from Doncaster Tourist Information Centre, Cusworth Hall, Civic Theatre and the Doncaster Dome as well as
