Nathan Deakin has dreamed up Rocking for Roy, which will take place at Mexborough Athletic Club on September 9 in memory of his grandad, Roy Hargreaves.

Nathan will perform himself and there will be sets from duo the Nanulaks and Eric Owen.

All proceeds from the gig, starting at 7:30pm, wil go to Weston Park Cancer Charity.

Nathan said: “Roy was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2020 and after a long hard battle, he passed away in November as it had spread aggressively.

“Before he passed, he asked me that if I should ever set up another charity gig, would I do it for Weston Park - so realistically, it’s all his idea!”

Admission to the gig is free, but collections will be made for Weston Park and there will be a raffle.
