Choir sings its heart out

A WORLD-travelled choir whose singers have performed for royalty and American presidentswill be singing their hearts out in Rotherham this weekend.

The Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda are regular visitors to the town and will be back in action at the Full Life Church in High Street, Maltby at 10.30am on Easter Sunday as part of their UK tour.

Watoto Children’s Choirs have travelled internationally since 1994 as advocates for the estimated 50 million children in Africaorphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS, war, poverty and disease.

Each of the children in the choir has suffered the loss of one or both of their parents and lives in Watoto village homes.

Accompanied by a team of adults, the choir presents Watoto’s vision and mission through their stories, music and dance.

This year’s production, Oh What Love, aims to present the vitality of Africa through its vibrance, urban sound and colour.
