Rotherham Council reviews the effectiveness of limiting licensed premises in Wickersley

HOW effective has the cumulative impact zone policy been at limiting the number of licensed premises at Wickersley?

The measure was introduced three years ago, after being “vociferously” backed by residents in the borough’s biggest growing area for evening economy.

Public consultation has been opened by Rotherham Council to review how well the policy has gone since.

It will also explore whether any other parts of the borough could benefit from a similar approach being introduced.

Meanwhile, a second consultation is reflecting on the borough’s gambling industry in order to minimise the potential harm to residents.

It will determine whether any changes need to be made to RMBC’s current stance.

Joint drop-in sessions will be held today from 4pm to 6.30pm at Wickersley Library; at Dinnington Library from 2pm to 4pm next Wednesday; and at Wath Library from 11am to 1pm next Friday.
