Activities include arts and crafts, computer game design, martial arts, football, parkour, BMX, boxing, as well as singing, acting and dancing activities hosted by Britain’s Got Talent and The Voice star Jessica Steele.

Classes run by Jessica will take place at Monkwood Primary School in Rawmarsh from August 21 to 24 for children aged five to 11 years.

Free places are available to many, including the 11,000 children in the borough who receive free school meals - good value paid places will also be available.

Parents must collect a unique reference number from their child's school to access their free place and each session will include a meal.

Any activities taking place in a school are open to all children, not just their own pupils.

Cllr Victoria Cusworth, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “The summer break can be a tough time for many families, particularly those on low incomes.

“Last year, across the Easter, summer and winter school holidays, the Rotherham Healthy Holidays scheme served up more than 23,000 meals to local children.

"I’m so pleased that we can continue to make this offer to keep children entertained and fed, which we know is appreciated by parents.”
