EMOTIONAL Chuckle Brother Paul Elliott thanked football fans after they paid a mid-match tribute to his late brother Barry.

Fans of Rotherham United and Ipswich Town observed a minute’s applause for Barry during their Championship match at the New York Stadium on Saturday.

The two sets of fans also exchanged chants of “To me, to you” in honour of the TV comics’ catchphrase.

Paul blew kisses to the crowd in gratitude.

Family, friends and fans will pay a final farewell to 73-year-old Barry, who died on Sunday, August 5, at the stadium at 12.55pm on Friday.

The Elliott family said in a statement: “We would welcome fans to celebrate his life and pay their respects with us outside of the New York Stadium.

“There is an event for invited family and close friends which respectfully is private and by invite only.”

The family said they were “overwhelmed with the love and support we have received”.
