Cathedral to light up the night

A CHURCH will be transformed once again by a spectacular sound and light show next weekend.

Following on from 2019’s popular The Angels Are Coming, Sheffield Cathedral is presenting another immersive display called The Beginning.

Creative sound and light artwork will celebrate the nativity story and Christmas traditions on the outside of the church, while further projections, lights and sounds inside will display imagery and colour taken from the cathedral’s stained-glass windows.

    Luxmuralis artistic director Peter Walker said: “We are delighted to return to the Cathedral and present this new adapted work this Christmas.

    “We look forward to working with the Cathedral team and seeing individuals and families return to the building and enjoy the uplifting light show and beautiful music.”
