Capes at the ready for return of superheroes to Mexborough

The town’s first Superhero Day last year attracted more than 2,000 people and the Sentinel Squad of superhero characters will be back in the town centre from 10am to 4pm on Saturday.

There will also a super hero poster competition and treasure hunt for families.

Entertainment will also include fairground rides, face painting, ice cream, food stalls, tombola and lots of pop-up stalls for local businesses and charity groups, as well as raffles for the Montagu Hospital Comfort Fund and town centre events funds.

Raffle tickets are available at Wetherspoon’s, Tea or Coffee on High Street and Casper's Coffee House on Bank Street, as well as on the day.

Cllr Sean Gibbons, chair of Mexborough Events Committee, said: “We have been working hard behind the scenes to put on another fantastic family event in town and it is great that to see so many local residents working so with local businesses, Doncaster Council and the markets team, among others.”
