Winning night at the New York

THE New York Stadium staged another successful international night as England U19s swept aside Italy U19s in style.

A crowd of more than 9,000 saw the Three Lions win 3-0, with Chelsea’s Isaiah Brown scoring twice.

England were technically better and physically stronger than the Italians and stamped their authority in the opening 20 minutes.

Brown blasted the opener from close range after 15 minutes and then curled in a classy second five minutes later.

Although goalkeeper Angus Gunn was tested by a venomous free-kick in the first half, England were dominant and made sure of victory midway through the second half when Brown, the man of the match, squared for his clubmate, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, to score.

Alex Kiwomya, the former Rotherham United youth player, came on as a substitute and only a good save denied him a goal when he raced clear.

The victory made it three out of three for England teams at the New York Stadium in the wake of successes for Engand  Women (against Canada) last year and England U18s (against Germany) in April.
