West takes over at Dinnington

CRAIG West is the new head coach at Dinnington Rugby Club and his side started to gear up for the new season with a practice match against Scunthorpe — and they’ll take plenty of heart from a narrow defeat.

Although they lost 22-21 they played well, recovering from 22-7 behind to nearly snatch victory.

Tomorrow they have another practice game at home to Mansfield (3pm) before they travel to Old Brodleians on September 7 for their first league game of the season.

Former Rotherham Titan West is looking to establish Dinnington as a Yorkshire One side, threatening the top and not the bottom.
