We're going there to win: Bester

TITANS face one of their biggest games for years when they head to Cornish Pirates on Sunday and coach Andre Bester says: “We are going there to win.”

Last week’s thumping win at Leeds has put Rotherham back in the Championship play-off picture and the winners of Sunday’s clash in the West Country will take a confidence-boosting second place behind group leaders Bedford at the mid-way stage.

And with the teams meeting again at Clifton Lane next week, Bester knows that back-to-back wins will put them in the box seat.

But it will be a weighty task at the Mennaye Field with the Pirates desperate to post a first play-off win after drawing their home opener against Leeds and then missing out in the tenth minute of added time at Bedford last Friday.

Said Bester: “It’s a game we are targetting as a victory. We will apply ourselves in the best way to win the match."
