We kept believing, says Evans

They finished four points behind the champions but Evans said the main objective had been achieved.

"People can paint different stories of injuries and suspensions but the league table never lies after 46 games and it didn't lie on Saturday night. We fell a little bit short of being champions but we finished second and I would have settled for third.
"It was about taking Rotherham United into League One."
Evans and his assistant Paul Raynor have already started making plans for next season, which starts on August 3.
"Our planning will be meticulous," he added.
