We can bounce back, says Evans

MANAGER Steve Evans expects Rotherham United to come out fighting when they resume their League Two promotion push at Wycombe Wanderers tomorrow night.

The Millers suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Dagenham and Redbridge at the New York Stadium on Saturday despite outplaying their opponents for long spells.

The dismissal of Kari Arnason just before the hour mark was a turning point as the Daggers won with efforts from Medy Elito and Luke Wilkinson either side of Claude Davis’s first goal in Rotherham colours.

The result nudged Evans' men down to sixth spot but with ten games to go he remains confident the team is heading in the right direction.

He said: “We were outstanding from start to finish on Saturday. We played well to be four up at Oxford last week but we were outstanding this time and could have been eight up had we got a couple of goals. It just wouldn’t go in for us and days like that happen.

“It won’t be hard to pick the players up because when you perform as good as that you always have a chance. If we were in a bad run of form then we’d be worried but we’re not worried about going to Wycombe.”

The suspended Arnason will sit out the visit to Adams Park but winger Daniel Kearns is set to return from injury.
