West delight after Titans' win

COACH Craig West praised his Rotherham Titans side after Saturday's 29-20 win over Cornish Pirates at Clifton Lane.

Titans had to be at their best to overcome the powerhouse full-time Camborne side, especially in a battling second half as the irates desperately tried to get back into the game.

"I thought we defended superbly against a very strong team," said West. "We needed that win and it has given everyone at the club a lift."

Kevin Maggs completed his deal to join Rotherham on Friday - as exclusively revealed in last week's Adevrtiser - and he joins the club staff this week.

Added West: "Kevin will come in as assistant coach and he may play once he gets settled in.

"It's a great acquisition for us and we're delighted that he has agreed to join us."
