We must do better, says Ellison

JUST not good enough.

That was Kevin Ellison's verdict on the Millers' 3-3 draw against Burton Albion.

Delighted as the scouser was to bag his first goal of the campaign against the Brewers, the shine was taken off it by the second-half capitulation.

Ellison said: "Last week at Shrewsbury we played well and got nothing. This time we never got started but ended up 3-0 up.

"We got in at half time and said let's hang on in there and let's not have a repeat of last year when we were 2-0 up against Burton and were lucky to come away 2-2.

"I was made up to score—I was due one—but I was more gutted to draw.

"Burton came from non-league only a couple of seasons ago but they're a good team and they showed that on Saturday.

"They were the better team to be honest. Never mind drawing the game, we were lucky to hang on in the end. I think they're a bogey team of ours."

Ellison netted 11 goals in all competitions last season and knows he needs to at least equal that this time to take the pressure off the team's usual source of goals, Adam Le Fondre.

"Up to last Christmas I was doing alright but after that the goals dried up a bit," said Ellison.

"There is a lot of pressure on Alfie to score goals. Cresser (Ryan Cresswell) has got three now and I think it is up to people like me, Lawsy (Nicky Law) and the rest of the lads to help Alfie out."
