Warnock bags manager of the month award

ROTHERHAM United chief Neil Warnock says his Manager of the Month award is down to every single person at the club as well as the supporters.

Wins over promotion chasing Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and Ipswich Town, plus an amazing 3-0 draw with high-flying Derby County from 3-0 down, clinched him the Sky Bet Championship gong for March.

The Millers have since gone on to stretch their unbeaten run to seven matches, turning their season around, but Warnock stresses that it has been a united effort.

He told the Advertiser: "It's a great accolade for everyone at the club, from the chairman right down to the washer woman. Everyone has been pulling together and it's a reward for all the hard work. The players have been brilliant and everyone off the field, including the fans. It's a pat on the back for them as well, it's everybody's award.

"Who would have thought it as well, especially with the fixtures we've had."

Midfielder Lee Frecklington was nominated for player of the month but missed out on the award.
