Warning shot from Evans

STEVE Evans says Rotherham United must stay 100 per cent focussed if they want their season to end in glory.

Three straight victories have manoeuvred them into a promising position in League Two, with promotion guaranteed if they can take maximum points from their final two games away to Plymouth Argyle tomorrow and at home to Aldershot Town next Saturday.

Tuesday's 2-0 success at Bradford City means they are guaranteed a play-off place but having fought their way back into the top three, Evans wants to make sure they stay there.

That means treating Plymouth, now virtually safe from relegation, with the same respect shown to their previous, higher-placed opponents and ensuring there is no way back for nearest rivals Burton Albion and Cheltenham.

Evans told the Advertiser: A word of caution, we won at Bradford but we have achieved nothing. Look at the stats. Plymouth are dangerous opponents. They were unlucky to lose at Burton recently and John Sheridan will want to win a football match.

"I gather they are expecting as many as 12,000 down there. They've got big support and we'll be going into a cauldron once more and we need to handle it as well as we did the other night and show the same professionalism and determination."

Winger Daniel Kearns is expected to return from injury but Rotherham are monitoring the fitness of David Noble, Michael O'Connor and top scorer Daniel Nardiello.
