Trust launches new ladies football academy

WOMEN'S football is at the centre of a new sport and education initiative from Rotherham United Community Sports Trust.

RUCST has launched a new Football Academy for ladies over 16, providing the chance to play football and enjoy a first class education in the dynamic surroundings of the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Learners have a choice of either Further Education and Higher Education programmes, taking in BTEC and NCFE qualifications delivered by Rotherham United Education Academy alongside playing for Rotherham United Ladies U18s or the ladies first team, depending on ability level.

Regular training sessions including strength and conditioning, a £300 bursary to cover costs of playing fees and training kit, opportunities to undertake FA football coaching qualifications and progression routes into the sports industry and scholarship opportunities are other attractions.

More information is available from Rotherham United Education Academy on 01709 827767 or email education@  rotherhamunited.net
