Toseland is down but not out

RACER James Toseland was happy with this week’s World Superbike test session—despite suffering his first crash since returning to the series.

Toseland walked away from his first crash since leaving MotoGP when he lost the front of his factory Yamaha R1 in Valencia.

He lost control when changing direction between turn four and five at the Spanish circuit, but was otherwise satisfied with the progress and lap times of the first morning session.

He said: “When I shut the throttle the revs where still high, which caused the rear to lock. That put all the weight onto the front and I was down.”
