TITANS says they don’t fear a cash-flow crisis despite a third straight call-off this weekend.

Tomorrow’s game at Bedford was postponed yesterday, hard on the icy heels of the weather-hit home fixtures against Birmingham and Nottingham. The Goldington Road pitch was frozen and needed a massive overnight thaw to make it playable.

Rotherham haven’t had a home game since the defeat against Bristol four weeks ago and just three home games in two months have put the squeeze on finances.

But club chief executive Allan McHale says problems have been averted after the RFU advanced their monthly payments to clubs.

“We will get through it OK but the postponements have put extra pressure on our cash flows,” he said.

“It is frustrating because we have had two successive home games called off, especially during the Christmas period when increased gates would have brought us that extra bit of income.

“It is difficult, but on the brighter side we do have a run of home games which will include the rearranged ones.”

The Titans’ next scheduled match is at home to Exeter next weekend.
