ROTHERHAM Titans tasted defeat as they finally got back to action at the weekend.

A big snow-clearing effort at Clifton Lane helped the Titans get their game on at home to Exeter Chiefs, albeit a day later than scheduled on Sunday to allow the pitch extra recovery time.

Tries by Kevin Maggs and Matt Farmer and eight points from the boot of Johnny West was not enough to stave off a 24-18 defeat.

The result leaves Craig West's men third-bottom spot of the Championship ahead of Wednesday's rearranged home game with bottom side Birmingham Solihill (7.30pm).
