Titans in battle for Championship survival

TITANS tomorrow begin their battle to avoid a disasterous drop into rugby’s third tier.

TITANS tomorrow begin their battle to avoid a disastrous drop into rugby’s third tier.

The Clifton Lane men face seven tense weeks after last Saturday’s defeat at Bedford meant they drop into the bottom four play-offs.

Rotherham should have too much strength in depth to finish bottom of the pile and fall through the Championship trapdoor and five points tomorrow against Coventry will give them just the start they need.

Rotherham will also face Moseley and Birmingham and Solihull on a home and away basis.

Tomorrow’s opponents Coventry have upped their game over the last three weeks, albeit without the results they wanted.

The midlanders have suffered six straight defeats, including a 41-11 thumping at Clifton Lane last month—and a repeat of that will give Craig West’s side just the start they need in the mini-series.

Coventry will be expected to put in a feisty challenge as they battle for their lives, as will Moseley, who last week proved that they have plenty of firepower following a win over top dogs Bristol.
