Titans begin search for new coach

TITANS will this morning begin short-listing candidates for the head coach's job after Craig West handed in his resignation.

West took the decision to quit on Friday, hard on the heels of the news that Joe Bedford was returning to the club next season.

He will stay in charge until after the finale at Coventry a week on Saturday, admitting after Saturday's defeat against Moseley that he felt he had little option.

"It was a difficult decision but one I think I had to make," he said. "It has been hard at times but overall I think we've done well."

The Titans directors will now draw up a short-list and hope to make a decision within the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, Rotherham went down 33-29 to Moseley to throw the relegation scrap wide open.

Coventry's 38-35 defeat at Birmingham  on Sunday means the Bees drop to the bottom of the bottom four group.
