Cragg has been delighted with the way Rotherham have rebuilt — including wholesale changes to their squad — after relegation last season.

"There is an awful lot of promise and we are trying to get the spirit back into the club," he tells tomorrow's Advertiser.

"I'm very optimistic about things. We have a brand new squad and have retained three from last year with 30 new guys.

"We have some very interesting new recruits and I'm feeling good about it."

Titans were drubbed 53-0 in their first pukka friendly outing at Championship side Nottingham last week and head for Wharfedale tomorrow for a full-scale run-out before the season kicks off a week on Saturday when the fancield London side Old Elthamians are the visitors.

"Although we were comprehensively beaten at Nottingham, nontheless there were a lot of positives to come out of that game, particularly in spirit because we never gave up for the full 80 minutes," he added.

Start time at National Two North Wharfedale is 3pm.
