Scott Mason becomes Parkgate FC's third manager in 17 days

SCOTT Mason has been appointed Parkgate FC's third manager in less than three weeks.

The former Maltby Main chief was announced as new 'Gate boss last night and will be joined in the dugout by Danny Parker and Danny Swales.

Parkgate have had a torrid time since original management team Andy Dawson and Lee Whitehead left for Maltby Main last month.

Their replacement, Ryan Hall, was in the post only a few days before stepping down due to work commitments.

His replacement, former Retford United chief Liam Kay, departed following Saturday's opening-day league defeat to Staveley along with recently appointed co-chairman Kieran Gallagher and the coaching team after long-standing chairman Albert Dudill decided to bring their brief alliance to an end.

Parkgate will now hope to get some much-needed stability with Mason, who has experience of the Northern Counties East League.

He had two years in charge at Maltby, guiding them to two top-six finishes in the NCEL Premier and good runs in the cups in a two-year spell.

He has also had success in Sunday football with Joker FC and won the Blades Super Draw League with the amalgamated Joker/Wickersley Youth CC club last season.

His first game in charge will be at home to Selby Town on Saturday.
