Rotherham Titans wary of threat from strugglers

ROTHERHAM Titans head coach Joe Barker won’t let his players get ahead of themselves when they head south to take on lowly Bishop’s Stortford today.

Titans will be chasing a third straight win while the Hertfordshire team are next to bottom of National One, having won four of their opening 13 games.

However their performances suggest they could be in a false position.

“They're a dangerous team,” Barker told the Advertiser. “They've got the second best defensive record in the league and have a good attacking game, it's just that they've been unlucky.

“They've been on the worst side of some tight scorelines, not least last week when they only lost by a point to the top team, Blackheath, and if those results had gone for them then they'd be in the top half.

“They like to throw the ball around and if it's dry then we should be in for a good game.”

Full-back Sam Allan (ankle) again misses out, as does Dan Preston-Routledge, who injured his ankle in training on Thursday. He’s replaced by Conor Keys in the second row. Zak Poole joins the back row in place of Luis Ball and Henry Roberts is recalled on the wing, with Connor Field making way.

It will be Rotherham’s first visit to Bishop’s Stortford's 1,600-capacity Silver Leys ground. Kick-off is 3pm.
