Rotherham Titans "up" their training with Sheffield Tigers

ROTHERHAM Titans should have an extra spring in their step when they return to action at home to Esher tomorrow (2pm).

The postponement of last week's match at Chinnor gave a much needed free weekend to a group of players who have been showing wear and tear from a busy season.

Prop Jack Bergamanas and second rowers Dan Preston-Routledge and Jamie Ure are all now out of the treatment room and fit to play. Full-back Sam Allan is also on his way back.

The squad also worked with Sheffield Tigers this week as they look to hit back from two successive defeats in National One..

“The week off has helped us,” head coach Joe Barker told the Advertiser. “We went to Sheffield Tigers on Tuesday and had a really good training session with them. It was intense and we managed to look at a few things.

"The first match down at Esher (Rotherham won 45-15, running in seven tries) was one of our best wins and we want to bring that form again and get a similar result.

"After everything we have done as a club in the last six months, going part-time and getting so many new players in, we're still fifth in a very strong league."
