ROTHERHAM Titans' players have been granted a less demanding training night as a reward for their comfortable win at the weekend.

Titans ran in four tries in Saturday's 29-5 victory over Caldy at Clifton Lane and were virtually untroubled throughout by the strugglers from Merseyside.

Two tries form prop Jack Bergmanas and one each for fly-half Callum Irvine and replacement forward Ali Thomson capped a second straight win and cemented fifth spot in National One. Alex Dolly kicked all the goal points.

After combining playing and coaching this season, head coach Barker again sat out the fixture, preferring to take in the action from sidelines, and was pleased with what he saw.

Alex Dolly slots a conversion.

He said: "I put it out there in the press in the run up to the game that we wanted a complete performance. We weren't quite there fully but the players did put a lot of effort in and it means that on Tuesday night there will be no training. We will just have a review along with a drink and pizza because they did manage to get closer to that complete performance and they deserve that.

"I don't think we've had a game like that where we've been comfortable for the full 80 minutes. They didn't get into our 22 many times and that shows how much we controlled it."

Titans have four games left, the first of which is away to mid-table Cinderford on Saturday (3pm). Catch Friday's Advertiser for full coverage.
