Rotherham Titans challenged to step it up in remaining games

ROTHERHAM Titans have been challenged to turn in a "complete performance" at Clifton Lane this weekend.

Refreshed by a fortnight without a game, Titans tackle Caldy, who are battling relegation from National One.

Due to a tail-off in results since Christmas, the best Rotherham can realistically hope for is to finish fifth, although they did snap a run of three defeats by beating Cambridge last time out.

Head coach Joe Barker believes the young Titans team has still to  fully "click" but would love that to change in the remaining five games, starting tomorrow.

“In the last couple of months our attack has been the best it's been, which is frustrating because we haven't quite got the results we wanted.," he told the Advertiser. "The fans will recognise that it's good rugby to watch, rugby that Rotherham hasn't played in quite a long time.

“We just now have to turn in that complete performance because even though we have enjoyed some good victories, we still haven't had that. I think that is something we are going to charge ourselves to get in the games that are left."

Rotherham have a clean bill of health for the fixture and also have tight-head prop Anthony Dickinson and second row Conor Keys back from international duy.

Titans won a highly entertaining first fixture with Caldy 33-29 at Paton Field in November.

Kick-off is 2pm.
