Rotherham Titans aim to go one better against promotion rivals

MOTIVATION will not be an issue when unbeaten Rotherham Titans lock horns with promotion rivals Sedgley Park Tigers at Clifton Lane this weekend.

The two played out a tightly fought and sometimes brutal 22-22 draw in their first meeting in Lancashire back in September.

Then under head coach Steve Salvin, Rotherham came back from 17-3 down to earn a creditable draw and Park remain the only team they haven't beaten this season.

New man in charge Adam Byron said: “Obviously we want to right the wrong against the one team we didn't beat in the first half of the season, so the players will be keen to put that right. It's a good really challenge for us."

The match will be Titans' first since December 11, with their inactivity nudging them down to fourth spot in National Two North, three points behind Sedgley, who have played two games more.

“Everyone should be well rested and ready to go,” added Byron. “We know what sort of game Sedgley are going to play.

“They like to play touchline to touchline, they like to spread the ball about. It will be a clash of styles and it should be a cracking game.”

Kick-off tomorrow is 2pm.
