Rotherham sports fixtures hit by weather

THE icy weather has bitten into the the local sporting programme across Rotherham, with football, rugby and hockey all hit

Parkgate’s ground at Roundwood failed a morning pitch inspection, meaning their Northern Counties East League date against Ollerton Town had to be called off. Swallownest’s match against Grimsby Borough in the same division and Maltby Main’s visit to Barton in the NCEL Premier have also been frozen off.

In hockey, Rotherham’s match against Hull at the Hallam University Sports Park on Bawtry Road was another casualty while the rugby postponements include Wath’s match against Goole in Yorkshire Two. Rotherham Titans’ National One clash down in Oxfordshire against Chinnor was called off last night.

Rotherham United’s Championship clash away to Millwall goes ahead as planned.
