Rotherham Hockey Club to host 'hockeython' in aid of injured player Chris Parke

ROTHERHAM Hockey Club have organised a Super Sevens Tournament to raise money for injured former player Chris Parke.

Chris was involved in a sporting accident which has resulted in him being severely disabled and he is currently on a rehabilitation ward where progress has been made in his long journey towards some form of independence.

Extensive medical assistance is needed to further this progress and the club is keen to support Chris and his family at this difficult time by raising funds to help his recovery.

Being held at the club's base at the Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park on Saturday, May 11 (10am-5pm), the event will feature mixed teams consisting of four men and men women throughout the day.

The games will be played on a third of the pitch in a league format, with the winners of each progressing to semi-finals and a final.

The winning team will receive the Chris Parke Trophy.

Entry is £35 per team and the closing date is April 30, after which times, directions, rules and information, will be sent to participating teams.

Entries can be made to Julie Rayner at [email protected], including a deposit of £10 payable to RHC. Final payments can be made on the day.
