Ronnie rallies troops for Northampton clash

ROTHERHAM United go into a promotion six-pointer against Northampton Town tonight under orders to take the initiative.

Having lost five matches on the bounce, the fading Millers can ill afford a sixth as they bid to cling onto a play-off place in League Two.

Northampton sit two points behind and know that a win tonight could take them above Ronnie Moore's side and potentially nudge them out of the top seven.

Rallying his troops, Moore said: "Northampton are a big, strong side, as they are all at this level.

"We expect a hard game and we've got to make sure we don't lose another one at Don Valley.

"We've got to be positive, set the tempo and get at them."

Moore and his players faced jeers from their own supporters in Saturday's defeat at Morecambe but the manager wants everyone onside tonight.

"We need the supporters on our side, although I accept it's sometimes it's hard when you see performances like Saturday's. Get behind us."

Kick-off tonight is 7.45pm.
