With the scores locked at 2-2 late in the second half, Will Vaulks and Richie Towell marred otherwise impressive performances by shooting off target when golden opportunities came their way.

Vaulks lashed the ball wide when he had only the goalkeeper to beat in the 77th minute and eight minutes later Towell followed suit by blasting over.

"In this league, we need to take our chances," said Warne whose side remain 20th in the table after a 2-2 Hillsborough draw.

"Our chances were gild-edged. If they were at the other end, I think they would have gone in."

The Millers dominated the first half but fell behind on the stroke of half-time when Lucas Joao scored on the break.

Michael Smith bagged a superb equaliser just 15 seconds after the interval and Towell put them in front only for Joao to score his second goal of the game.

""I am biased, but I thought we were the better team, the more aggressive team. I thought we tried to win," Warne said.

"We tried to get at them and I thought, after our first-half performance, to go in at 1-0 down was harsh.

"We did well in the second half and created enough chances to win the game.

"But to get a point away is not my worst day at the office."
