Patience call after Titans crash to second successive defeat

COACH Joe Barker has called for patience after Rotherham Titans' second successive National One defeat.

The Clifton Lane men went down 42-19 at Darlington Mowden Park as the home side coasted to victory in a one-sided game.

And now Rotherham desperately need to win this week's home match against Rosslyn Park to end their disappointing start.

Plus points from the game at the cavernous Darlington Arena were that Titans held their own for the opening 20 minutes and had a good spell in the second half, earning three tries for their efforts, but in reality they were a long way off the mark against a Mowden side which finished second last term and will again be among the front runners this year.

Said Barker afterwards: “I believe in this squad but I want our fans to be patient and continue to support the lads like they’ve done all along.

"It will take a bit of time but we will get there.”

"There were a lot of good things but you have to remember that they have been together for a few years while we are a new squad.

“At times you can see what we are trying to do and we are nearly there, but there were a few decisions made which proved to be wrong ones. I think that’s just a little bit of inexperience but that will come if we continue to work hard during the week."
