NORTHERN Counties strugglers Parkgate have confirmed Ross Shelton as their new manager.
Shelton has been the caretaker at Green Lane since the departure of Graham Nicholas and his appointment was confirmed by the club this morning.
The 27-year-old began his playing career at 16 with Sheffield Wednesday and after a period at Scunthorpe, began his NCEL career at Parkgate. Spells at Garforth and Ossett Town preceded his return to Roundwood in 2016.
Parkgate Chairman Albert Dudill commented: " We are delighted to confirm Ross as our new manager, and are fully behind his efforts to get the team moving up the Premier Division table.
" I'd like to thank everyone who expressed an interest in the Manager's job at Green Lane, but in reality Ross was always our first choice."
Gate were beaten 2-1 after a brave performance at Worksop Town last week and now face Rainworth at home this Saturday (3pm).
