Parkgate appoint new management team after boss quits

PARKGATE have appointed a new management team in the wake of Billy Fox's resignation.

Fox stepped down following Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Armthorpe Welfare after less than a year in charge. He originally announced his intention to leave after last week's FA Cup replay loss against Leek Town.

Former Gate player Andy Dawson, who has worked recently at Stocksbridge PS, has taken over as manager and will work with assistant boss Lee Whitehead and player coach Ben Starosta, an experienced coach who has joined the club from Harworth Colliery.

They will take their first training session tomorrow night in preparation for Saturday's League encounter against Glasshougton Welfare.

Decent some decent results in the cups, Gate have struggled in the league and sit second bottom of NCEL Division One with only one point from six games. Fox was unable to save them from dropping out of the Premier Division in difficult circumstances last season.
