Parkgate and Maltby Main to start season with FA Cup ties

PARKGATE will begin their season with an FA Cup tie against Cheshire-based side Barnton.

The Steelmen, who host Rotherham United in their first pre-season game tomorrow (Saturday), will take on the North West Counties League Premier Division outfit on in the Extra Preliminary Round of the competition at Roundwood on Saturday, August 5 (3pm).

Barnton finished 17th in the league last season and were knocked out of the FA Cup at this stage.

Fellow non-league club Maltby Main will travel to Merseyside outfit Cammell Laird 1907 FC, who were relegated from the NWCL Premier Division last season.

Main will then host Cammell Laird in the first round of the FA Vase on September 9.

Parkgate have been drawn at home to Manchester outfit Daisy Hill, who play in the NWCL Division One.
