The Millers were trailing by a goal and looked to be heading into the relegation places deep into the second half at AESSEAL New York Stadium.

But, showing unbelievable spirit, they turned the game on its head with two late penalties to record one of the results of the season.

Substitute Ryan Manning stepped up in the 79th minute to beat Kristoffer Nordfeldt after the away goalkeeper had felled fellow sub Jamie Proctor and Manning did it again seven minutes later following Leroy Fer's handball.

The victory catapulted them to 18th in the table.

Swansea had controlled the first half and deserved to go in front in the 25th minute when dangerman Daniel James broke down the left to fire in a low cross which Oli McBurnie converted.

Marek Rodak came to the Millers' rescue 10 minutes later, pulling off an important save from Bersant Celina’s shot after Kyle Naughton’s pass had left the Swans forward one on one with the home goalkeeper.

Rotherham were starved of possession and all they could muster was a tame 38th-minute header from Semi Ajay, following Jon Taylor’s cross, which caused Nordfeldt no problems.

The Millers were indebted to Rodak again in the second half as he saved from Fer and Celina as the Swans appeared to be coasting to an away triumph.

The visitors reckoned without the famous Rotherham resolve under manager Paul Warne.

The Millers dug deep. From the spirit came the penalties, from the penalties came three points.

What a fightback.
