The Millers led 1-0 at the interval at Championship promotion contenders Norwich City through Richie Towell's opener.

But they were breached three times after the break by the club Warne followed as a boy as their seven-match unbeaten run came to an end.

It was the first time the boss had taken the Millers to Carrow Road since taking the hot-seat two years ago.

Rotherham gave him a dream start by going in front after only 11 minutes and deserved their half-time advantage.

A short-corner routine between Joe Newell and Anthony Forde saw Will Vaulks testing Tim Krul from the edge of the area and Towell followed up to score from close range.

The Millers weren't afraid to attack and on 19 minutes, not long after Vaulks had tried his luck on the volley, Ryan Williams smacked the post from 20 yards.

Joe Mattock produced a brilliant block to thwart Marco Stiepermann as the half-hour mark approached but Rotherham came fighting back, with Vyner heading over at the end of flowing move.

The Millers lost Newell and Clark Robertson to injury and the Canaries stepped up the pace after the break, levelling in the 55th minute when Todd Cantwell steered home Teemu Pukki's pull-back.

They were in front 18 minutes later as Cantwell turned provider, lofting a pass into the box that Max Aarons headed beyond Marek Rodak.

A horrible defensive mix-up between Williams and Semi Ajayi ended with Ajayi losing possession and presenting Pukki with an easy finish.

Only late saves from Rodak on Pukki and Tom Trybull kept the scoreline down as Norwich returned to the top of the table and Rotherham slipped a place to 20th.
