Millers snap up strike ace Lavery

NEW Millers signing Caolan Lavery is expected to be thrown straight into the fray as Paul Warne's men chase more league points this weekend.

Lavery arrives on a loan deal from Sheffield United until the end of the season and is the third signing during the January transfer window following Michael Smith and Matthew Palmer to the New York Stadium.

It is expected that the 25-year-old will make his debut against AFC Wimbledon this Saturday.

The Canadian born former Northern Ireland U21 international helped the Blades secure the League One Championship last season. He has played six times this season but Bramall Lane boss Chris Wilder wants the striker to get more regular first team football.

Lavery started his youth career in England with Ipswich before making his breakthrough at Sheffield Wednesday, where he made 39 appearances in all competitions.
