Millers ready for derby tussle

MANAGER Steve Evans says that Rotherham United will have to fight fire with fire in tonight's big Yorkshire derby with Bradford City.

The Millers can go third in League Two if they win but the Bantams, striving to anchor a place in the play-offs, also have plenty of incentive to take the points.

Evans is looking for more of the battling qualities that helped overcome Fleetwood Town on Saturday and expects another physical test.

"We're taking on a team full of quality players," he said. "Bradford will be fired up and ready for us and we need to be ready to match what everyone tells me is the most physical and demanding side in the league.

"Fleetwood must run them close but we stood up to that and need to do the same this time.

"Whatever team we pick, we've got some match winners. We're certainly capable of winning the game but we must do our homework and go there with real pride and tenacity and see where it takes us."

Evans is expected to make changes and checks will be run on striker Daniel Nardiello, who hurt his shin in scoring at the weekend.

Added the Millers boss: "We will be committed and adventurous in our play. We won't put people behind the ball and wait to get beat, but we will have to be very disciplined all over the pitch."

Kick-off is 7.45pm.
