Millers poised to make stadium decision

ROTHERHAM United say they’ll make a decision over extending the AESSEAL New York Stadium within the next fortnight — but they are to push on with increasing the corporate capacity.

Millers’ chairman Tony Stewart told the Advertiser that a final meeting with architects will be held today and if it all adds up then the club will kick off a development plan.

Rotherham know they need to maximise their financial input if they are to compete sustainably in the Championship and the restriction on visiting fans alone proved extremely costly last term.

“Increasing the stadium capacity is one of two or three projects we’re currently looking at,” said Mr Stewart.
