It was a rare sound at a stadium the Millers have turned into something of a fortress since adopting as their temporary home last summer.

Rotherham are still unbeaten in the league at Don Valley this term but that is no consolation for the recent decline and the poor quality football served up against the Shots.

The experienced Ellison admitted: "The supporters have the right to their opinion. Obviously (the booing) doesn't help the players but they pay their money and they are going to have a say on things.

"If you ask me, I wasn't happy with the first half. I'd have probably booed myself! It was one of those matches where you try to do things and it doesn't come off. You get frustrated with yourself.

"The fans weren't happy and to be honest the lads weren't happy with themselves either."
