Millers land former Leeds youngster

NEIL Redfearn says the Millers have netted an exciting talent in Chris Dawson.

The 21-year-old has signed on an 18 month deal after being released by Leeds United, where he was part of a clutch of exciting youngsters nurtured during Redfearn's time there.

An attacking midfielder, he has only a handful of first-team appearances but the Rotherham chief is delighted to get him.

"Dawson is a real talent and a massive coup for us," he said. "He only looks about 14 and he's 5ft 6in but he's got a terrific change of pace. He's got real game craft and can open up the play in tight situations."

Dawson is the Millers' seventh signing of the January transfer window, joining Aimen Belaid,Shay Facey, Alex Cairns, Luciano Becchio, Chris Burke and Andrew Shinnie.
