Millers hope to tie up new signings

MILLERS boss Paul Warne expects to wrap up at least one more new signing within the next week as the countdown to the season continues.

Warne hasn't given up hope of bringing stopper Marek Rodak back for another loan stint while he's been linked with several other potential newcomers.

Currently in Austria, where the squad's boot camp concludes on Saturday against Wiener Neustadt, Warne continues to work hard to bolster his squad ahead of the August 4 opener.

He told Advertiser Sport: "We're still obviously spinning a few plates. I'm looking to bring a goalkeeper in, which I hoped would be done by now but it's so frustrating. It is what it is, but that should be done imminently — I know who I want but I can't wait forever.

I'm also trying to get at least one, possibly two, centre midfielders. I'd expect that to be next week as well.

"I'll potentially need another defender as well.

"We are waiting for other clubs and for their signings to drop into place and some of the players I'm looking to sign have more than us as an option, so we're too-ing and fro-ing on what they want and trying to convince them to come."
